Selling my accountancy practice

In our experience it is a sellers' market.  Unlike the sale of other businesses, an accountant is not selling a commodity. What is being sold is the relationship between the vendor and the client base.  It is far more personal than most people realise.  We have dealt with very small amounts of fees for sale – nothing is too small.

Your very pleasant, excellent service and support has enabled us to progress very satisfactorily in the transfer of our clients.  We appreciate all the personal time that you put into finding the right person for us, for which we are truly grateful.
Maureen and David Wheeler.  Milton Keynes.   Seller.

Our vendors have told us that these things are important to them:-

  • Getting the right “fit” so the clients are happy
  • Matching the same level of service that the clients are used to getting
  • Good income multiple reflecting the quality of the practice for sale
  • Willingness to take on existing staff
  • Doing a deal within a reasonable time frame
